The Ceilidh masts sections are manufactured in negative moulds which ensures smooth outer surfaces to ease finishing. Each mast is individually manfactured according to a stringent specification with a varying wall thickness to allow reinforcements and stiffeners as required.
A carbon mast is designed to meet the section stiffness requirements at each panel in the mast, thus the strength and wall thickness are varied to suit the designers requirement. As a result the mast sections can be optimised to reduce the total weight. The engineering of Ceilidh masts is contracted to High Modulus Europe Ltd, based in Hamble, UK, who are well versed in composite analysis and have a wealth of experience in the marine sector.
The Ceilidh masts are manufactured with toughened epoxy pre-impregnated carbon fibres which are applied to the mould surfaces in thicknesses ranging from 0,2mm to 1,2mm per layer. Local reinforcements are provided as required as is glass-fibre insulation on the outer surface in way of metal fittings which may be required.
Currently all Ceilidh masts are finished in house or together with Neut Mast in Middleharnis who is also the agent for Sparcraft aluminium masts in The Netherlands. The proximity allows an efficient partnership which continues to grow. The Ceilidh masts are manufactured with toughened epoxy pre-impregnated carbon fibres which are applied to the mould surfaces in thicknesses ranging from 0,2mm to 1,2mm per layer.
Where possible all fittings are manufactured with carbon-fibre and are bonded as required to the spars. Individual requirements with respect to masttop details, electronics etc, are discussed during the planning process to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Ceilidh continues to develop new products and designs to meet the requirements of an ever developing market.
